Today’s Scripture: Matthew 10:28
Fear is one of the most powerful forces in life.
Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of loss. Fear of the future.
Left unchecked, fear can quietly shape our decisions and keep us from following God fully.
Jesus understood this struggle. That is why He repeatedly encouraged His followers not to fear. In Matthew 10, He reminds them that there is something greater than earthly fears: God’s eternal authority and faithfulness.
Fear focuses on what might happen. Faith focuses on who God is.
The goal is not to eliminate fear entirely. Courageous people still feel fear. The difference is that they choose not to let fear make their decisions.
Following Jesus often requires stepping into situations that feel uncertain. It may mean having difficult conversations, making generous choices, sharing your faith, or trusting God with an unknown future.
Faith grows whenever we choose obedience over fear. Every step of trust strengthens our confidence in God. The more we experience His faithfulness, the easier it becomes to trust Him again.
Fear says, “What if things go wrong?”
Faith says, “What if God is more faithful than I imagined?”
PERSONAL REFLECTION
What fear is most influencing your decisions right now? Bring it to God and ask for courage to trust Him.
PRAYER
Father, You know the fears that quietly shape my choices. I bring them to You now. Help me choose obedience over fear and trust Your faithfulness even when the way feels uncertain. Remind me that You are more faithful than I have imagined.
