Who We Are

Armor Sports is a ministry outreach of NewPointe Community Church that is here to create positive youth sports environments for the purpose of life-changing experiences. We use our More Than A Game philosophy to help create an environment where we can learn and build character, understand the importance of healthy competition, and experience the importance of community. We want to create a clean, safe, and fun atmosphere for you and your family while providing an opportunity to get to know our Savior, Jesus, through sports!

History

Founded in 2008 and relaunched in 2022, Armor Sports has grown from a seasonal basketball program with just over 200 athletes into a year-round organization serving more than 1,200 participants across four sports: basketball, cheer, flag football, and soccer. Armor Sports is committed to building strong athletes and stronger communities through high-quality programming, passionate coaching, and a family-oriented environment. We opened our 28-acre Armor Sports Complex at our Dover campus to serve as a central hub for training, competition, and community connection, reflecting our mission to support youth development both on and off the field.

More Than A Game

At Armor Sports, we use our More Than A Game (MTAG) philosophy to emphasize life skill development. This allows our athletes to win on and off the field. We want to partner with families to help further develop the character and integrity if their athletes based on Christian Values.

Team Snap

Team Snap is our go to communication tool for families, coaches and administrators. All post registration information such as schedules, rosters, league calendar and league updates take place in Team Snap. Get it on the App Store or Google Play.

NFL Flag

NFL FLAG is the largest flag football league in the United States. Flag football is the perfect introduction to football fundamentals and a great opportunity for tackle athletes to refine their technique and improve their game in the offseason.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We are aligning with national standards across all Armor Sports, including Basketball and Flag Football, to create a more consistent and balanced experience. This helps ensure players are grouped appropriately by age, improves competition, and creates a clearer long-term development path.
Age groups are based on your child’s birth year, not grade. This applies to both Basketball and Flag Football. Divisions will be structured as 6U, 8U, 10U, etc.
The cutoff runs August 1 – July 31 for all Armor Sports. Your child’s age on August 1 determines their division.
Players may be approved to play up with Director approval.
Players cannot play down.
Beginning in 2027, Armor Sports will no longer offer Soccer and Cheer. Both have been an important part of Armor, and we are grateful for all the families who have been a part of it. As we have looked toward the future of Armor Sports, we believe that Flag Football and Basketball have the greatest ability to grow our athletes and impact our communities. To summarize, we are narrowing our focus to deepen our vision.

Time commitment varies by age and sport. For Flag Football Rec teams and all Basketball teams, practices are 1 hour with 7 game days. For Girls Flag Football and Competitive Flag Football teams, practices vary.
We understand that some families may face financial hardships, and we never want cost to be a barrier to participation. Armor Sports offers scholarships and financial aid options to help cover registration fees for eligible families.

Rosters are formed by the Armor Sports staff based on registration requests, registrant geographic location, ages, and experience levels of each team member and evaluation results. We strive for competitive balance in each division.
Get the Team Snap app! Team Snap is our go-to communication tool for families, coaches, and administrators. All post-registration information such as schedules, rosters, league calendar, and league updates take place in Team Snap. If you have recently registered for any Armor Sports league, download Team Snap (App Store or Google Play) and look for the invitation email once rosters are released.
Contact us at armorsports@newpointe.org. A 100% refund will be issued before registration closes. After registration closes, a 50% refund will be issued.
