For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10 NLT
When God looks at us after we have accepted Christ as Savior and King, He not only sees the righteousness of Christ in us, but He also sees our incredible potential and purpose. He has created us with many gifts and empowered us to do great things. He doesn’t simply see our past and our present – when He looks at us, He sees His children who are central to His mission, having powerful potential to change the world through acts of love, kindness, mercy, and justice. This is part of His plan for us. We become essential to building His kingdom.
Knowing how God sees us should change how we view ourselves and live our lives. Instead of being burdened by inadequacy, a sense of inferiority and inability, we can live with assurance that we are fully capable of anything God calls us to do. Instead of being weighed down with guilt and shame, we can live in the exhilaration, peace, and freedom of knowing that we are fully loved and accepted by God.
Performance and perfection are no longer issues for us because Christ has settled our acceptance by God once and for all. We don’t have to work for God’s favor because we already have it through Christ. Our identity is secure! We can live freely, boldly, and confidently.
Because I see my positive future as a certainty in Christ, I have no reason for envy or jealousy of others. I have the security and assurance to accept others as God has accepted me. I can view their strengths and weaknesses with the same grace and love-filled perspective as God sees me. My relationships get stronger and more fulfilling as I receive and give the blessing of truly belonging to God’s family.
Lean into and live in the power of the good news that you are fully known and fully loved by God. The One who created you fully accepts you as His own. Because of Jesus, you can stand before God without fear, you can walk with confidence throughout life, knowing that your reality is peace, purpose, provision, and power through Jesus.
- You are a dearly loved child of the King! Give Him all your cares, your insecurities, and concerns. He sees you as capable and worthy of everything you need today and tomorrow. Thank Him.
